Maybe a first reaction after this beautiful race. It's just the most incredible race. And I think we were blessed with very British weather snow, rain and then a bit of heat at the end. It was a bit of everything. So yeah, it was just a spectacular day where the mountains just threw everything at you. And the mountains will always win, and you've just got to look after yourself and see who can get around the fastest. So no, it was Yeah, an incredible day. You see the inside of my hard? Yes. My wife and my baby's name.

How important was your wife, Sophie and your baby Phoebe on this race?
Tom Evans
Incredibly important. I think running's a team sport. And, yeah, without the support from my wife. And, yeah, having Phoebe as well is just added. Thank you very much. It's just added so much value to our lives. And. Yeah, In my. In the tough moments there, who I was thinking of and who I was doing it for.

It was difficult last year on the Utmb. This is a relief for you today. How do you feel?
Tom Evans
I think it's a it's proof that you can't fail. You can just learn from your mistakes. And it might take one, it might take two. But yeah, I am incredibly proud to have learned from my mistakes and executed a really good race and winning the biggest and the most beautiful trail race in the world.
Domanda
At which time did you realize you were going to win?
Tom Evans
When I crossed the finish line, I pushed until the finish.
Domanda
Was it the hardest that you've ever raced this Utmb?
Tom Evans
Hardest? Yes. It had. It threw everything at you and you had to be trail running. You need a big toolbox and lots of good tools in your toolbox, and you can be. This year you needed everything to be able to run fast, hike and mud, do snow, do rain. Look after yourself in the big mountains. And yeah, this year was just everything.
Domanda
Tom, we've heard that you worked with the psychologist in preparation for this race. Tell us about the mental work that went into preparing for this race.
Tom Evans
I think for me, it was about being really happy on the start line and any, any demons that I had just dealing with them. And yeah, not taking things seriously, but realizing what the important things in life are. So yeah, it was incredibly useful.

Training differences that Scott Coach Scott made this year.
Tom Evans
We focus a lot on heavy uphill. And instead of doing short reps, doing long reps. So on the mountain directly behind us, Brevent, I would do one heavy weighted uphill tempo, then run down, then hide. Hide the pack under a tree. Run down and then hike back up at another tempo, but without the pack. That was sort of the crux of the sessions, which made a huge difference today.
